Volunteer Ministries
Many of the Notre Dame Sisters participate in a number of Volunteer Ministries outside of their assigned ministry. See the list below to see what Sisters are committing their time to:
- Sr. Joy Connealy - Teens Encounter Christ, part of retreats and gives workshops for TEC leaders
- Sr. Christine Elias - letter writing and phone calling for Nebraskans Against the Death Penalty, as well as a member of the band, Nuns Like Us
- Sr. Michelle Hayek - volunteers at St. Wenceslaus in Wahoo reading and tutoring
- Sr. Phyllis Marie Heble - leader of book club at Seven Oaks.
- Sr. Margaret Hickey - spiritual direction
- Sr. Corona Humpal – crocheting and knitting for many causes
- Sr. Mary Beth Kubesh - helps with garden produce and flowers distribution at Courtyard
- Sr. Theresa Maly - volunteers at Catholic Worker House in KC and is an advocate against the death penalty and nuclear plant building
- Sr. Stephanie Matcha - prepares Sunday liturgy for Immanuel Courtyard each week and is a member of the band Nuns Like Us
- Sr. Mary Kay Meagher - IXIM group
- Sr. Marie Alice Ostry - Global Outreach coordinator for students coming from Europe to the US, as well as a member of the band Nuns Like Us
- Sr. Joan Polak - Mission work in Honduras.
- Sr. Veronica Jo Posekany - often visits patients she has had at the hospital
- Sr. Margaret Proskovec - Nebraska Arts Council
- Sr. Anita Rolenc - volunteers in the grade school teaching religion and reading to the students
- Sr. Dorothy Rolf - spiritual director
- Sr. Madonna Schwarte - takes care of the needs of the sisters at Courtyard on Saturday
- Sr. Carmelita Smisek - needle work and bakery for many causes
- Sr. Celeste Wobeter - occasional work as chaplain at Bergan
- Sr. Mary Ann Zimmer - advocate against the death penalty
