The annual Stewardship Fair at Mary Our Queen Parish in Omaha, Nebraska is a good place to see Sr. Stephanie Matcha's ministry in action.
At the October Fair, Sr. Stephanie invites parishioners to join not only in the liturgy of the parish, but in lay ministry, family ministry, and human needs outreach. Here are a few of the over thirty ministries at Mary Our Queen that Sr. Stephanie serves as coordinator, assistant, or resource/contact person:
Homeless Shelter Ministry: Coordinated by Sr. Stephanie, fifteen members of this ministry prepare one meal a month for Siena/Francis House.
Habitat for Humanity: Along with other Omaha Catholics, forty parishioners work to build a house for a disadvantaged family.
Parents of Special Needs Children: Twelve couples belong to this support group for families who have children who are physically and/or mentally disabled or medically fragile.
REFOCCUS: Eight couples participated in this 5-part series to help strengthen marriage relationships and communications.
Bread Basket Ministry: In 2000-2001 over 175 meals were delivered to parish families in need due to loss of a loved one, illness, hospitalization or age.
Ministry of Praise:  Twenty-four parishioners who support the parish community through prayer alone have been commissioned to this ministry. Designed for those in poor health, these parishioners take an extremely important role in the parish family.

In addition to serving as Coordinator of Lay Ministries, Sr.Stephanie also serves as Pastoral Minister. She visits the sick of the parish and coordinates services for the aging and homebound of the parish.
