As associates of the Notre Dame Sisters, we are adult Christian women and men who publicly enter into a relationship with the Notre Dame Sisters to live and promote Gospel values while responding to unmet needs.

Together we believe in a spirituality that:

• recognizes that God first loves us,
• empowers us to take risks out of a conviction of God's fidelity,
• affirms the dignity of all people,
• calls us to a Christian use of our resources in responsibility to the poor,
• encourages each person to use her/his unique gifts in service to others,
• calls us to reflect upon the joys and sorrows of our own lives in light of Christ's death and resurrection,
• recognizes the example of Mary, a disciple who openly responded to God's action in her life, and
• recognizes that it is in relationship that we come to know our God and to reach out to others' needs.

Notre Dame Associates are persons who:

Desire to live their baptismal commitment through prayer, community, and service with the Notre Dame Sisters and Associates;
Wish to publicly commit themselves to participate in the Notre Dame Mission through a non-vowed, formalized association while remaining financially independent;
Are 18 years or older and of any race, culture, Christian belief, married, single, vowed religious or clergy;
May wish to actively participate in the works of the Notre Dame Sisters;
Demonstrate emotional stability and possess skills for relating effectively with others in community and service;
Wish to share in and contribute to Notre Dame life through dialogue and by sharing spiritual, social and community experiences;
Successfully fulfill an Associate orientation process.
