Our Notre Dame symbol is composed of three images.

"M" for Mary after whom we are named (Our Lady).
She is our model in faith and discipleship.
The "bent stalk of grain" reminds us of the Eucharist-Christ loving us enough to give us himself daily in the form of bread. It also recalls a vision of Blessed Alix, our foundress, in which God said that her Congregation would suffer and be bent, but never broken. History has shown this to be true following the French Revolution and the reign of Communism in Czechoslovakia..
The "Cross" is the source of our Christian faith, hope, and the ultimate symbol of self-giving love.
This symbol, along with a crucifix ring, is worn by the Notre Dame Sisters.

TM -The Notre Dame symbol is trademarked and may not be used without the written permission of the Notre Dame Sisters.
