Community
living may mean being together in the same house, eating and praying together,
and sharing household tasks. Then again, it may mean living alone because
of ministry needs, and staying in touch via phone, e-mail, and letters. In either situation, community means we are united in love and concern for each other as persons and in our work. We find ways to encourage each other in our common mission of building a world of love and support for each person. We value friendship among community members and find time to relax, vacation, recreate, and socialize with each other. Our deep friendships are based on shared beliefs, goals and dreams. Together we share laughter and tears; we support each other in the good times and in times of uncertainty or need. All that we earn or are given is shared for the good of all. Salary checks are sent to the Motherhouse. At our community gatherings we determine guidelines as to how our joint money will be spent. Each living group and/or person makes a yearly budget to meet personal and group needs. This combining of finances enables us to put more money into our work to help those in need. |
